It has the following responsibilities:
- proposing control and monitoring procedures for environmental matters;
- planning, managing and maintaining activities control and environmental and social actions, research and quality;
- developing the company environmental management system;
- complying and supervising applicable legislation.
The Board also manages issues related to Health and Safety at Work.
Currently about 40 professionals are exclusively dedicated to environmental programs, and other 30 provide support to them. In addition to this, more than 25 technicians are on-call for responding emergencies and more than 15 companies are involved in Appa projects.
